The Rollin’ Root

The Rollin’ Root is essentially a farmers market on wheels delivering a host of farm-fresh produce to Marin County and San Francisco residents who otherwise might not have access to affordable, nutritious fruits and vegetables. Currently, Novato, San Rafael, Marin City, West Marin and San Francisco have existing stops on the Rollin’ Root’s route.

The Root’s Weekly Route

Farm-Fresh Produce on Every Plate

Every Monday, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday

Our mission is to increase equitable access to fresh, healthy food grown on local farms and to provide nutrition education in underserved communities.

The Rollin’ Root is a food truck stocked with seasonal fruits, vegetables, and dairy products from the farmers market.

A story of the Rollin' Root and the power of community-driven equitable food access that lifts up organic farming practices.

AIM’s goal is to ensure that all members of our community have access to fresh fruits and vegetables, regardless of transportation or economic barriers.

AIM sources 100% of products directly from local farmers that participate at AIM’s farmers markets. All products are offered for sale at affordable price points and remain competitive with local grocery store pricing.

California’s name for the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program, formerly called the Food Stamp Program. CalFresh participants who use their EBT card at The Rollin’ Root are eligible to receive 50% off their purchase of fruits & vegetables through Market Match.

The Rollin’ Root also accepts Senior Bonus Bucks, which are $10 coupons for free fruits and vegetables issued to qualifying older adults ages 60+ who participate in the Senior Farmers Market Nutrition Program.

Rollin’ Root Ambassadors provide an important bridge between Agricultural Institute of Marin (AIM) and the communities it serves. Rollin’ Root Ambassadors are enthusiastic supporters of the program and share information with their neighbors about seasonal produce, what’s available each week, tips for using new items, and reminders to shop at the Rollin’ Root. “Our community really likes the Rollin’ Root. It is easier for us to get fresh, organic, local veggies and fruits. It’s hard for many people in our community to go to the farmers market, so this is the perfect solution.”
